Rajneeti: Movie Preview

Rajneeti is a political saga bringing out the ugly face of democracy . The characters of the movie are inspired from the characters of the epic – Mahabharta. The parallels can be drawn between Manoj Bajpai’s character and Duryodhna, as the promos shows him as an inheritor, who thought power was his birthright and Katrina Kaif’s character and Bhishma as she is termed as a Diva, who is forced to enter the battlefield.

rajneeti beyond politics manoj bajpai nana patekar ranbir kapoor ajay devgan arjun rampal Rajneeti: Movie Preview

Rajneeti is being promoted as a movie by Prakash Jha – the maker of hard hitting and content based movies (Damul, Mrityudand, Gangajal and Apaharan). The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal, Katrina kaif and Ranbir Kapoor. Except Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif who are relatively new, remaining principal cast have won National awards for their outstanding work. In fact, the director himself is also a national award winner.

The film is being termed as the biggest multi-starrer after Sholay by the director Prakash Jha and according to him Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will win National awards for this movie.

The promo is an interesting watch and briefly describes the battlefield and the characters involved in this battlefield. Katrina kaif resembles Mrs Sonia Gandhi – Congress President in the promo. The promo looks interesting and made me curious to watch this battle which begans on 28th May 2010.
