Wanted : Naaaahhhhh Most Wanted

Wanted movie poster e1263409451706 Wanted : Naaaahhhhh Most Wanted Wanted is a remake of the south Indian blockbuster Pokiri. In his introductory sequence, Salman takes on bunch of goons single-handedly and says “Sooar hamesha jhund mein shikaar karte hain, par sher akele”. This dialogue sums up the movie where Salman Khan is a Sher and other Baddies are Sooars.

Crime is on surge in Mumbai, where gang wars take place in broad day light and the body count is increasing day by day. Ashraf Khan (Govind Namdeo) is appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, who has a vision to make Mumbai crime free, to fulfill which he is not willing to bow to any political or bureaucratic pressure. On the Other hand, there is Inspector Talpade (Mahesh Manjrekar) who is as a corrupt as one can get.

Then, there are two gangs in Mumbai – Golden Gang headed by Gani Bhai (Prakash Raj) and the other gang headed by Ghani bhai’s ex-aide, who now aspire to become the king of Mumbai Underworld by overtaking Golden gang thus leading to frequent gang wars.

Radhe (Salman Khan) plays a street-smart goon for whom killing some one is as easy as sending an SMS. He works for money and on his own terms and conditions. He can Take on 15-20 people on his own, dodge the bullets fired at him, kill all the goons without even getting a single scratch on his body.

Radhe is totally in Love with a call-centre employee Jhanvi (Ayesha takia) and at the same time testosterone-driven Inspector Talpade also has his eyes on Jhanvi and wants to make her his Keep. Inspector Talpade tries everything from harassing Jhanvi’s mother to sending the criminals to molest Jhanvi, but  his evil designs are thwarted by Radhe every time.

Radhe clears all Golden gang enemies for money and thus increasing his own enemies. When Ghani Bhai Comes out of his hiding and returns to India to settle the score with his Aide turned foe Data Pawle, Mumbai Police swings into action. On the other Hand, Jhanvi who by now, is also madly in Love with Radhe keeps on persuading Radhe to leave crime, but Radhe just cant yet.

Does Commissioner Ashraf Khan makes the city crime free? Does Radhe give in To Demands of Jhanvi? How Ghani Bhai deals with Police and Data Pawle? How Radhe saves Jhanvi from the Lustful eyes of Inspector Talpade? All this forms the rest of the movie with mild twists.

Salman Khan is the perfect protagonist for the movie as the role is an extension of his bad boy image and I Don’t Care attitude. Debutant-Director Prabhu Deva extracts brilliant performance from almost the entire star cast where Salman Khan and Prakash Raj give stand-out performances. Good performances from the cast along with good comic scenes and pure raw action are the plus points for the movie. It reminded me of Ghajini, which has the same raw appeal but in terms of story, emotion and music, Ghajini is way ahead of Wanted.

Music is the weak point of the movie and the songs act as a speed breaker in this fast paced action flick. There is no novelty in the script. The twist is predictable once you get to know that there is a twist in this movie. Too much blood, Fights may act as a deterrent for family audience.

This movie, although, has predictable storyline, too much blood and not so pleasant music, it is still very entertaining due to good comic scenes, raw action and good acting. So just stop reasoning and enjoy the full on masala flick –Wanted. It’s a total paisa vasool movie.
